"What is beauty but nakedness unashamed of itself?" - Marty Rubin

Hi, my name is Martin (yes, that's me in the pic, in 2004). From the moment I bought my first digital camera, I've felt the urge to capture beauty. This started with landscape and nature photography in the early 2000's, but this gradually shifted in wanting to capture the beauty of people. In 2009, I switched to what is arguably one of the most difficult forms of photography: capturing the beauty of the nude female form.

Shooting nudes in a tasteful, artistic, glamorous or even erotic way without it becoming tacky, lewd, vulgar, or demeaning is both challenging and interesting. It's demanding on the creativity of both the photographer and the model, as composition and light become ever so important. It also requires a lot of mutual respect and trust between the model and the photographer.

Which is why I love everything about it.

I love the brainstorming before a shoot, scouting possible locations, looking for potential in man-made and natural environments, and asking myself the question "how can I use this location and a model to capture the next beautiful shot?". I love the communications with the model before the shoot, the bouncing off of ideas back and forth. I love the shoot itself, especially if the collaboration really begins to "click" and you both start to come up with new ideas when looking at the back-of-camera results, going "hey, let's try this-and-that" or "maybe it'd be really cool if we...". And I love the post-shoot editing, when all the hard work eventually pays off.

I live in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, where I do most of my shoots. Within the Netherlands (possibly even extending into Belgium or Germany), I can easily travel to various locations. While I love to go abroad and work in different environments and sceneries, I'm a bit more limited in the sense that photography is not my full-time profession. Unfortunately, it usually takes a lot of arranging to take a leave at my day-to-day job. Nevertheless, if you're a model interested in working with me either in Holland or somewhere else, feel free to shoot me a message and we'll see if and how we can make it work!

Lastly, I want to thank all the models and MUAH's I've worked with so far for helping me to create all the great images. With this site, I hope I can share some of the beauty with the rest of the world. If you've made it this far, thank you for reading through all that drives and motivates me, and feel free to visit the galleries, browse through my works and look through my eyes. Enjoy!
